Meet Dr. Jacqueline C. Westcott, a Jupiter native, whose unwavering dedication to optometry has brought her accolades and recognition both nationally and within her community. A true academic achiever, Dr. Westcott completed her bachelor’s degree in biology, complemented by minors in mathematics and business administration at the University of Florida. Her pursuit of excellence led her to NOVA Southeastern University College of Optometry, where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry, accompanied by an additional bachelor’s degree in Vision Science.

Fuelled by her passion for providing the best care possible, Dr. Westcott embarked on a rigorous and prestigious residency program in New York City at SUNY College of Optometry and Woodhull Hospital. This exceptional opportunity allowed her to fine-tune her skills and gain invaluable experience in managing patients with medically complex cases, working alongside world-renowned vision scientists, optometrists, and ophthalmologists. The hospital setting offered her the privilege of collaborating with prominent NY physicians, managing care on a multidisciplinary level, and further enriching her expertise.

Now, back in her cherished hometown of Jupiter, Florida, Dr. Westcott stands out as one of the select few optometrists in the state to attain the distinguished title of Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (F.A.A.O.). This esteemed recognition underscores her commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and the advancement of patient care. Dr. Westcott’s passion for lifelong learning has motivated her to pursue additional fellowships, including Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD) and Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS).

Beyond her exceptional academic achievements, Dr. Westcott is a published author in the esteemed Optometry and Vision Science Journal. Her groundbreaking work, “OCT in a Myelinated Retinal Nerve Fiber Syndrome with Reduced Vision,” showcases her dedication to advancing knowledge and enhancing patient outcomes.

Despite her illustrious career, Dr. Westcott remains grounded and committed to her community. When not in the office, she relishes spending cherished moments with her husband and son, immersing herself in a range of interests, from fitness and swimming to playing guitar and reading on diverse subjects. Her heart is full when engaging with her nieces and nephews, while actively contributing to her community.
