Contact lenses are very safe for healthy eye! However, there are certain contraindications to contact lenses. If interested, schedule an exam and Dr. Westcott will go over all options available and fit a lens specific to your circumstances, ocular health, and visual demands.

Depending on the type of lens you choose and your overall sensitivity to lenses, it may take a week or two before you completely adjust to your new lenses, though many people are surprised how quickly they adapt. Even those who feel they may be too squeamish to place the lenses in their eyes or remove them find that after a little practice, wearing lenses is an extremely comfortable and convenient option.

Is the contact lens fit included in my comprehensive exam? Fees associated?

The contact lens fitting is not part of a comprehensive eye exam, but is an additional service which includes the contact lens fit, insertion & removal training for new wearers, follow up visits for 90 days, and trial contact lenses (for soft lens wearers). More specialized contact lens fits are also offered: rigid gas permeable, scleral, hybrid, piggyback, Synergeyes, Intelliwave, and Specialeyes.
